In 2026, our strategic partner NOCTI marks 60 years of work in career and technical education. Founded in 1966, NOCTI has spent six decades building one thing: an objective, standardized way to prove that a person can actually do the technical work they say they can do.

What is a NOCTI credential?

NOCTI is the largest provider of industry-based credentials for career and technical education (CTE) programs in the United States. Its assessments cover more than 100 occupational areas — welding, HVAC, electrical wiring, precision machining, automotive technology, health occupations, IT networking, culinary arts, and many more.

A NOCTI assessment doesn't test general reading or math. It tests the specific technical knowledge and applied problem-solving that a technician, tradesperson, or health worker uses on the job. NOCTI holds full accreditation from the International Certification Accreditation Council (ICAC), and its credentials are used by educators, state agencies, and employers as third-party verification of skill.

Why a third-party credential matters

A résumé is a claim. A credential is evidence.

When you tell an employer you can read a schematic, wire a panel, or run a CNC machine, you're asking them to take your word for it. A NOCTI credential replaces that with a standardized, externally validated result — the same benchmark applied to candidates across the country.
