What is the Dual Program?
This system of study represents a complement to high school education (or the equivalent of grades 10, 11 and 12), and gives students a tool that allows them to obtain a certification issued by the educational system of the United States of America. (High School Diploma) through The Woodlands Preparatory School.
How long can a person who is not attending high school complete the Dual Program?
The Dual program is calculated to be completed in 37 weeks per module, at a standardized pace; however, the completion date will depend on the pace at which the student decides to take the Dual Program, with a minimum standard of 9 months to complete the credits of the six subjects required by the North American system.
Access to public and private universities such as registered local students and not as a foreign student.
Access to scholarship programs that universities offer.
Access to economic support, maintenance or housing programs in some cases.
An advantage in the process of processing the American F1 visa for university students (without being a total security for obtaining it, but it is a determining factor).
Access to study a university degree from a remote location but participating as a local student.
During the Dual Program, each student, while studying in high school, takes six online subjects with us (Mathematics 10, 11 and 12 and History 10, 11 and 12). Following this line, upon graduation, the student receives the corresponding certificate issued by their educational institution and from The Woodlands Preparatory School they receive the “High School Diploma” that accredits them as a student belonging to the US educational system.
These subjects are presented through weekly assessments, that is, two hours a week per group (one hour for each subject), during a period of three school cycles, the duration of which can vary depending on the pace that the student chooses. In this way, the Dual Program is a tool and not an extra workload for the student.
The teachers who are part of the Dual Program are educational specialists dedicated for several years to online teaching in Spanish and English.
How is this program carried out?
Every week the students will have to send the projects that the teachers require of them. This is the way in which the notes are obtained but always with a creative approach and the development of strengths. With the intention of maintaining a high-quality average, this educational model requires a minimum passing grade of 8.0 in both subjects; since this is the minimum that the certifying company Cognia requires so that the student's total credits (those from their high school and those obtained with us) are sufficient to accredit their North American certification.
Materials such as readings and videos are uploaded to our educational platform by teachers each week and are available to students throughout the duration of the program for consultation whenever the student requires it.
No, this program has the extra advantage that it is highly inclusive so that anyone who is studying high school as well as anyone who has already completed high school can enroll and receive the High School Diploma certificate, once the credits at the Woodlands Preparatory School have been completed. Additionally, our registrations are open throughout the school year.
Can only students currently in high school be part of the Dual Program?
What advantages does obtaining the High School Diploma offer me?
Obtaining a High School Diploma issued by the North American system gives students several competitive advantages, including:
Exclusive Economic Proposal for inter-institutional agreements
The costs of the program are quite affordable due to an inter-institutional agreement that we would be celebrating, which guarantees us a certain volume of students in exchange for preferential prices:
Admission process
The admission process for the Dual Program is through the Gradelink platform.
Students interested in this program can access this platform through the Online Prep for High Performance Athletes link located on our WEB page.

These prices can be reduced if an inter-institutional agreement is made and a minimum number of students greater than 200 is guaranteed.
